Welcome to Our Bench
Our Bench offers family and wheelchair-accessible self-catering accommodation in Lymington, on the edge of the New Forest National Park. We have three purpose-built cottages available, all featuring level access, ground floor accommodations, accessible wet rooms with space for lateral transfers, kitchens with built-in accessible areas, and comfortable home-from-home furnishings. We can accommodate between 2 and 5 guests in individual cottages.

Perfect for exploring the New Forest, the South Coast, Hampshire, and Dorset, we are an ideal base for fantastic day trips to the Isle of Wight, Portsmouth, Southampton, Salisbury, Bournemouth, and Winchester. Enjoy visits to theme parks, ornamental gardens, accessible bike rides, forest walks, coastal trips, museums, and more. We have 2 weeks of possible activities as well as information on Lymington, the New Forest and possible Day Trips from our well located properties.

Our accommodation caters to full-time wheelchair users and guests with limited mobility who need level access, specialist furniture, or quiet spaces to enjoy their stay. Each cottage offers a height-adjustable profiling bed, additional electric head and foot riser beds, a ceiling hoist in the bedroom, and a level wet room with ample turning space, providing totally step-free access from your car to your bed.

Best time to visit?
Spring and Autumn are great times to visit the forest with open spaces, quiet pubs, and newborn forest animals. Explore the forest's shades of green, cafes, and pubs with great outdoor spaces. The gravel tracks are perfect for scooters and robust wheelchairs, or stay closer to your car and enjoy scenic viewpoints.
Local Attractions
Our Bench is situated just two miles from the Georgian Yachting Town of Lymington and surrounded by the New Forest National Park. We are located in the village of Pennington, our cottages are on a bus route, just two miles from the nearest train station, backing onto open fields yet just five minutes walk to the nearest shop where you can purchase your morning paper, freshly baked bread, fruit, vegetables and milk.
There are many accessible places to explore in the New Forest National Park, with fantastic walks, quiet spaces, and stunning countryside views. The coast is a short drive away, with beaches and cliff tops at Milford, Barton, Highcliffe, and Avon Beach. Southampton, Portsmouth, Bournemouth, and Salisbury are within easy reach. Commitment to Cleanliness and Safety
Since the onset of COVID-19, we have remained dedicated to ensuring our holiday cottages are clean, tidy, and prepared to the highest standards. We understand that many of our guests have complex needs and are particularly cautious about minimizing exposure to additional risks. Therefore, we continue to prioritize cleanliness and safety in all our cottages.
Pennington Common which is within the New Forest National Park is just 3 minutes walk from your holiday cottage door, is a great open space whatever the time of year.
We hold a waiting list, so if the specific dates you require are not available, let us know and we will send you an email if we get a cancellation.

If you need different dates, extended stays, or multiple cottages, contact us with your requirements. We can hold your booking for 7 days while waiting for alternative payments like BACS or cheque. Ideal for holidays paid by third parties such as care homes or holiday agencies.

We can even arrange hot tub hires from a local company. Please ask if you can't find the information that you need.

Our cottages use 100% renewable electricity, and we offset carbon emissions from gas for heating and cooking. We encourage recycling and offer EV charging stations with Voltshare. Reduce vehicle emissions by using the bus service right outside our door.
